Unfortunately, there are occasions where we host a giveaway and the company does not follow through.   We have had this happen once and we have been trying to contact this company on several occasions to follow through with their promises.  Because we do not own the products that are given by the companies we can not send these out to you on our own.  Yes, we do make a little money to keep up the site with Coupon Database costs, advertising, and of course our time.  I promise this isn't enough to support our families and we don't do it because we want tons of money from the site.  We love supporting this site to help others maintain a healthy lifestyle for their families along with encouraging others to donate whenever possible.  As a result, we will keep hounding the fire out of companies that do not hold up their end of the bargain to promises and giveaways.

We will be starting a new procedure with giveaways and companies.  There will be a form sent to each company that wants to sponsor a giveaway.  This form is to be completed with exactly what is to be given away and an understanding that once the winners receive their products they have the opportunity to post a comment/review about receiving the products, the quality, and the likes and dislikes.  We do have a right as the site owners to monitor each comment/review so if the content is not family oriented (use of language, etc. ) we will not allow the comment/review to go through.

Most of the giveaways hosted by Smart Shopping Ladies are sent out by the sponsors so that we do not incur shipping costs.  We want everyone to receive their winnings so we have requested the gift cards to be sent to us so that we can send these out to everyone but we have yet to receive these.  We are very sorry to the winners of these gift cards and we hope that this will not reflect on the way that you see Smart Shopping Ladies.  If you have any questions we will be glad to address your concerns.  We hope to receive these ASAP!

Smart Shopping Ladies Sponsorship Program: Christmas 2010

Tis' the season for giving!  We have started our Smart Shopping Ladies Sponsorship program and we would love for you to be a part of this special time of giving.  If you would like to help sponsor a family or have a suggestion for a family that needs assistance please click here.

To get you in the mood, unfortunately, I have to tell a story (the names have been changed to protect the persons involved),

Charity is a young girl that got pregnant right out of high school to a young boy named, Nathan. Both decided that they would keep their child. They didn't know the first thing about providing for a family or a baby.  Charity and Nathan didn't have a job and neither one was ready for the bumpy ride ahead.  Charity had several complications along the way with her pregnancy and for a limited amount of time they resulted to spending time in a paid storage building to keep a roof over their head.  Charity didn't want to ask for assistance because all her life she had been told that you shouldn't take advantage of the system and you shouldn't ask for help from others if you were the reason you got into the problem in the first place. What Charity would soon understand is that when you hit rock bottom there are a ton of people that love to help and would have helped sooner.

Charity finally went for housing assistance but housing was not available for her and him at the time.  They didn't have resources to know what was available to them through the Pregnancy Crisis Center or through other organizations.  

Charity had her beautiful baby boy early and by the grace of God he entered this world healthy and stable. 

The last day Charity returned home from the hospital.  Nathan was called back from an interview with job,  a blessing that many can't find in this economy. 

She is now in an apartment that is being paid for by her Grandmother until they are able to survive on their own.  Charity will have to stay with the baby for several weeks until he is able to stay at a daycare.  She will be looking for jobs in the future also.  The baby is doing great and she has been approved for WIC/EBT.

With limited family and money Charity and her baby will miss out some the amenities of Christmas and everyday necessities. 

We all know the real meaning of Christmas and the GIFT that we have been given from God.  We would love to share with others the meaning of giving by sponsoring families around the area that need help and assistance during the Christmas season.

Coupon Database Highlights and Updates

We have had the coupon database for several months now and hope that you are finding it easier to search for money saving coupons.  We would like to share with you the different updates that we alerted with from MyCouponDatabase.com.  As always, you can see the image above on the right side of the site to go to the coupon database anytime you need it.

1.  Comma Function Back


The comma function is back. If you didn't use this feature before, it is another great time-saving benefit when searching the database. Simply enter the keywords with a comma and NO space in between each item. For example, you could search for Pampers and Luvs by entering:

Pampers,Luvs

Click search or press Enter and you will see the results for any items that contain those keywords. Quickly sort the Description Header in alpha order so you can scroll through to find exactly what you're looking for.  Note, it doesn't work for multiple word searches, i.e., Chex Mix,Luvs just single keywords.

 2.  The ability to see upcoming inserts. By Friday, MyCouponDatabase has the inserts loaded to the database for the upcoming week. When you do your coupon preview, you can link to the specific search for the inserts.


3.  They are beginning to add tearpads, peelies, and blinkes to the database. These will come from anyone who suggests coupons to the database. Having the information submited as complete as possible helps to approve the suggestions in a more timely basis (with values, expiration and description, otherwise it's not much help :).


They have also added these as new sources for you to search (see individual coupons in each source on your site's database under the Coupon Source dropdown).

Announcement: Features Added

There three new features added to Smart Shopping Ladies.

1.  On the right side bar we have added "Recent Posts" so that you can go straight to post that you may have missed earlier in the day.  This will also help you if you want to skip the grocery lists and see the other posts.  There are only 10 listed in the recent posts section so please be aware that we post way more than 10 a day. 

2.  We added the "Suggest This" tab to our facebook page. This feature allows you to share the Smart Shopping Ladies website with your friends so they don't miss out on deals, samples, and freebies.  Share the love!

3.  Another button has been added to the ride side bar, "Tips & Truths" .  This is where you will find free and helpful articles available to you.  Some of the articles are for fun and others ,we hope, will help you through the journey of saving money for you and your family.

Coupon Database Has Been Updated!

We are excited to announce that Smart Shopping Ladies Coupon Database has now been updated!  The Coupon Database is a free site available to you.  We do have to pay a small monthly fee through My Coupon Database to have this available to you so we would love for you to use it!  If you do use it and would like to comment please do so at the end of this post.

Coupon Workshop Updates

This Saturday, August 21, 2010, we are having a workshop in Taylors,SC at Bi Lo.  Because seats are limited we will not be able to accept registration at the door.  If you would like to join us for this workshop please click here for more details.
